In the Beginning




After Pauls course in Salt Spring Island with Cliffton Schooley he felt ready to use his skills.  We decided on short pillars at the entrance to our property.  He experimented with decorative rocks and a seam of white. Three years later they haven't budged.


















I built an excavator to cut down the costs of renting, and i'm too cheap to buy one.

Made a cement mixer too

  1. hi, i discover your blog on rammed earth house, searching real life self building in cold climate ( i'm from east france, rain and cold :) ) , have you some video or plan for your excavator, i plan to bulding one too for reducing cost. have you post some house plans especially wire plumbing or electrical plumbing inside wall, does it leak the wall like i read ? your blog really help people like me , living in country where rammead eatrh are not common :) thanks you
